A Guide to Travelling With Family

Key things to remember:

  • If traveling via a cruise, it is important to consider which vessel you will sail on. Some smaller, more luxury vessels cater only to seniors and couples.
  • You must fly to the Galápagos from Mainland Ecuador. To ensure you are relaxed, we recommend having at least two nights in Quito or Guayaquil at the start of you trip. Read more about getting to the Galápagos here.
  • Consider the activities that your tour offers, a popular activity in the archipelago is snorkeling which is not suitable for infants and children that are not confident swimming in open water.
  • Consider when to go: the warm season (December–May) often brings calmer waters and warmer weather, making it a more comfortable experience and less chance of sea sickness.
