02 Rabida Island

Rabida Island feels like stepping onto Mars. With distinctive red rocks due to high levels of iron in the lava, its landscape is entirely unique. Most of the coastline is rocky, with the sandy beach on the northeast side providing the only access point for tourists.

The island is particularly rich in bird life with flamingos breeding here and serving as one of the best places to see brown pelicans nesting. Rabida is an ecosystem still recovering from the effects of non-native goats and rats being on the island.
