Day 1 | Transfer in Quito

You will be welcomed by an English-speaking assistant and a private transfer from Quito Mariscal Sucre airport to your hotel.

Day 2 | Quito Bites & Delights

You will explore Quito’s historic center, tasting vibrant Ecuadorian cuisine. Highlights include visiting Mercado de San Francisco for fresh fruit juices, sampling traditional Sierra dishes, tasting artisanal ice cream and enjoying chocolate and craft beers. This immersive culinary experience rooted in throw you in the deep end of Ecuadorian culture.

Chaski 04.25 Food Market Otavalo

Day 3 | Otavalo & Community Cooking Class

You will arrive in Otavalo and explore the Indian market. Full of colorful indigenous crafts and artefacts, this stop is a must for all visitors to the northern Andes of Ecuador. In the afternoon, we will meet a Kichwa Otavalean family who will lead a cooking class, teaching you about traditional cooking methods and authentic flavors.

Chaski 03.25 Avenue Of The Volcanoes Llullu Llama 2 Generic

Day 4 | Avenue of the Volcanoes

You will head to Cotopaxi National Park where, weather permitting, you will be able to see the snowcapped summits of the Cotopaxi and Antisana volcanoes. Here, you will visit the Interpretation center to learn about the history of this spectacular volcano’s eruptions, as well as the local flora and fauna. Afterwards, you will explore Lake Limpiopungo and the surrounding area on foot.

Day 5 | Indigenous Markets and Quilotoa Lake

You will visit authentic indigenous markets away from the tourist trail and explore the Quilotoa volcanic crater which features a mesmerizing turquoise lake. You'll also visit art galleries in the community of Tigua, take part in an art class where you will learn about the world renowned painting techniques of the region, and visit the famous Julio Toaquiza’s studio.

Day 6 | Devil's Nose and Ingapirca Ruins

On day 6, you will visit Tolte, stopping at the historic Balbanera Church and Colta Lagoon. At the Pistishi viewpoint, you'll be able to admire the engineering feat of the Devil’s Nose railroad and in the afternoon you will explore the Ingapirca ruins - Ecuador’s most important Inca site known for its impressive architecture and cultural significance. You will spend the night in Cuenca.

Day 7 | Cuenca City Walking Tour

In Cuenca, known for its stunning skyline of church domes, you will go on a city walking tour highlighting the colonial architecture. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage site, the city’s winding rivers, ironwork balconies, and cobblestone streets create a peaceful, romantic atmosphere. Surrounded by green valleys, Cuenca is renowned for its beautiful crafts and ambiance.

Day 8 | El Cajas National Park

From Cuenca, you will head to El Cajas National Park, a 70,000-hectare reserve known for its stunning landscapes of cloud forests and rocky terrain. With over 200 lakes, unique wildlife such as spectacled bears and pumas, and a chance to see wild llamas, the park offers an unforgettable experience. Don't forget to look up to see the diverse array of birdlife, including toucans, hummingbirds and condors. Afterwards, you will drive to Guayaquil to spend the night.

01 Dragon Hill

Day 9 | Baltra & Santa Cruz Islands

On day 9, you will transfer from your hotel to Guayaquil airport, where you'll undergo mandatory luggage inspections to fly to the Galápagos Islands. Once in the archipelago, you will be taken to the Sea Star yacht and sail to Dragon Hill, a long beach trail on Santa Cruz island rich with flamingos, land iguanas, and offering lovely views of the neighboring islands.

02 Black Turtle Cove (Santa Cruz Island)

Day 10 | Black Turtle Cove and Chinese Hat

In the morning, you'll visit Black Turtle Cove, observing sea turtles, baby white-tip reef sharks, and other diverse marine life in its mangrove environment. In the afternoon, you'll visit Sombrero Chino -Chinese Hat Islet - enjoying its unique shape and scenic views. There will also be a chance to snorkel off the zodiac boat to look for sea lions, colorful fish and Galápagos penguins.

03 El Barranco

Day 11 | Genovesa Island

In the morning, you'll visit El Barranco (Prince Philip’s Steps) on Genovesa Island, observing diverse wildlife and passing through colonies of Nazca, red-footed boobies and many other endemic bird species. In the afternoon, you'll visit Darwin Bay on Genovesa Island, enjoying its coral sand beach and observing swallow-tailed gulls and sea lions along a mangrove trail.

04 Bartolome Island

Day 12 | Bartolome & Santiago Islands

In the morning, you'll visit Bartholomew Island, enjoying its iconic views of Pinnacle Rock and the volcanic landscape. In the afternoon, you'll visit Sullivan Bay on Santiago Island, observing extensive lava flows of both "pa-hoe-hoe" and "aa" formations.

05 Highlands Tortoise Reserve

Day 13 | Highlands Tortoise Reserve

In the morning, you'll explore the highlands and see the renowned giant tortoise along with diverse birdlife and the contrasting ecosystems of the Galápagos. Later on, you'll transfer directly to Baltra Airport for your flight to the mainland.
