Trip Highlights:

  • Encounter iconic Galapagos wildlife, including giant tortoises in the Santa Cruz highlands, marine iguanas at Espinoza Point, flightless cormorants, and playful sea lions during snorkeling.
  • Explore diverse volcanic landscapes, from the lava flows of Moreno Point and the uplifted terrain of Urbina Bay to the red sands of Rabida Island and the "Chinese Hat" islet.
  • Enjoy exceptional snorkeling opportunities in locations like Mangle Point, Urbina Bay (with penguins!), Puerto Egas, and Rabida Island, teeming with marine life.
  • Discover unique birdwatching spots, including the flamingo lagoon at Espumilla Beach, the diverse species at Moreno Point and Darwin Bay, and the nesting sites at El Barranco (from the previous itinerary).

Operator's Itinerary

01 Highlands - Santa Cruz

Day 1 | Santa Cruz Island

In the morning, fly to Galapagos, pay the $20 migration card and $200/$100 park fee at Santa Cruz airport. Meet your guide for transfer to the ferry and then visit a highland farm like Ranch Manzanillo to see wild tortoises and explore lava formations. (L,D)

In the afternoon, board the M/C Seaman Journey. Your luggage will be transferred directly to the yacht after your highlands visit.

02 Moreno Point - People in dinghy - Flamingo

Day 2 | Isabela Island

In the morning, explore Moreno Point on Isabela Island, walking over Pahoehoe lava flows and observing diverse birdlife, including blue-footed boobies and flightless cormorants, near coastal lagoons and mangroves.

In the afternoon, enjoy excellent snorkeling at Mangle Point off Fernandina. Take a panga ride through mangrove groves, potentially spotting sea lions, tortoises, pelicans, rays, and various seabirds.

03 Urbina Bay

Day 3 | Isabela Continued

In the morning, visit Urbina Bay on Isabela, an uplifted area with unique snorkeling alongside penguins and lobsters. Walk the trail, looking for land iguanas and giant tortoises, and observe endemic vegetation.

In the afternoon, explore Tagus Cove on Isabela, a historic pirate and whaler spot with graffiti. Hike to a viewpoint above Darwin Lake and the bay, looking for finches and mockingbirds. Enjoy snorkeling and kayaking.

04 Espinoza Point

Day 4 | Fernandina Island

In the morning, visit Espinoza Point on Fernandina Island, famous for its large marine iguana colonies. Also look for flightless cormorants, Galapagos penguins and hawks in this pristine area.

In the afternoon, explore Vicente Roca Point on Isabela's northwest coast with its high cliffs and rich marine life. Enjoy panga rides and snorkeling to see seahorses, sea turtles, penguins, and boobies.

05 Espumilla Beach - Crab

Day 5 | Santiago Island

In the morning, explore Espumilla Beach on Santiago Island, noting coastal erosion and formations. See nesting sea turtles, a flamingo colony, and diverse wildlife including sea lions and Darwin's finches.

In the afternoon, visit Puerto Egas on Santiago Island, featuring a black volcanic beach with vibrant Sally Lightfoot crabs. Explore the old salt mine infrastructure and snorkel with marine iguanas and playful sea lions near the grotto.

06 Rabida Island

Day 6 | Rabida Island

In the morning, visit Rabida Island, known for its red rocks and sand. Observe flamingos in the lagoon and pelicans diving. Enjoy excellent snorkeling with sea lions, moray eels, and colorful fish.

In the afternoon, explore Chinese Hat islet, resembling its namesake. Observe sea lions, marine iguanas, and Galapagos penguins. Enjoy snorkeling in the calm channel, potentially seeing reef sharks and sea turtles.

07 Black Turtle Cove - Turtle

Day 7 | Santa Cruz: Black Turtle Cove

In the morning, enjoy a dinghy ride in Black Turtle Cove on Santa Cruz. Observe sea turtles, sharks, rays, egrets, and herons in the calm, mangrove-protected waters with the boat engines off.

Later on, transfer to Baltra airport for your flight to the mainland.
