03 Tagus Cove

Day 3 | Isabela: Tagus Cove & Urbina Bay

In the afternoon, visit Urbina Bay, once submerged beneath the ocean. Now home to sea lions, land iguanas, and flightless cormorants, it’s perfect for a relaxing beach visit or a guided hike.

04 Elizabeth Bay - Blue Footed Booby

Day 4 | Isabela - Elizabeth Bay & Moreno Point

In the morning, explore Elizabeth Bay by panga, as no landings are allowed to protect the island. Clear waters reveal abundant marine life, making it an excellent spot for snorkeling.

In the morning, visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, a vital conservation and research facility. Explore its extensive plant collection, learn about breeding programs, and discover efforts to eliminate invasive species threatening the islands’ ecosystem.

06 Santa Fe - Land Iguana

Day 6 | South Plaza & Santa Fe Islands

In the morning, explore South Plaza Island, a small yet ecologically rich site. Admire its vibrant landscape, home to Sesuvium plants, prickly pear cacti, and a thriving land iguana population. The striking contrast of turquoise waters against black lava makes for stunning photography.

In the afternoon, visit Santa Fe Island, home to the endemic Santa Fe iguana. Formed by volcanic uplift, it features Opuntia and Palo Santo forests. Hike to a scenic viewpoint or relax on a secluded beach, where giant tortoises once roamed before their extinction due to early sailors.

In the afternoon, relax at Gardner Bay and Osborn Islet, where a pristine white sand beach hosts a large sea lion colony. Observe Española mockingbirds and finches up close, but remember not to feed or touch them, as it disrupts their natural behavior and survival.
